*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* JANUARY 2010 *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

A picture is a poem wanting words.

Words may either conceal character or reveal it.

When you will, they wont, when you wont, they will.

To silence another, first be silent yourself.

There are many languages on earth, but ONLY one in heaven.

The laughter, the tears, and the song of a woman are equally deceptive.

Sing not of triumph before the victory.

Poverty trieth friends.

Neither shall the wave, which has passed on, ever be recalled; nor can the hour, which has once fled by, return again.

It is well to buy oil as well as salt.

It is easier to run from virtue to vice, than from vice to virtue.

He, who denies his faults, makes no atonement for them.

Have a care of a silent dog and a still water.

Every little blade of grass declares the presence of God.

Death cancels everything but truth.

To fight once shows bravery, but to fight all the time is stupid.

A child brought up where there is always dancing cannot fail to dance.

Inner peace and love are the greatest of God’s gifts.

The wiseman’s promises are like dew on the field.

A lying tongue had bereft him of life, and all without reason of right

It is the still and silent sea that drowns a man.

There is naught so vile as a fickle tongue.

Never in speech with a foolish knave should you waste a single word.

If there is bitterness in the heart, sugar in the mouth won’t make life sweeter.

The rain does not recognize anyone as a friend; it drenches all equally.

Commit a sin twice and it will not seem a crime.

The favorite place of God is in the heart of man.

A poisonous tongue flows with the jealousy, resentment, or pride residing inside.

A spark can start a fire that burns the entire prairie, so can the tongue that starts a war.

When something has been said, a team of four horses cannot overtake it, so speak wisely and thoughtfully.

The fish sees the bait, not the hook; a person sees the gain, not the danger.

When anger rises, think of the consequences.

Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.

No duty is more urgent than that of returning thanks.

Cultivating an attitude of gratitude takes practice, keep on nurturing and watering like how you do your flowers everyday.

The best portion of a good man’s life is his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love.

Your thoughts build your life.

When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise.

If you want to sleep well each night, learn what you can where you go about.

Near the end of your life, the tongue should be used well.

Do not associate yourself with crushing and lying tongues where they are.

Everyone is wise until he speaks.

When ambition ends, happiness begins.

Blind belief is dangerous.

Man is the head of the family, woman the neck that turns the head.

No bees, no honey; no work, no money.

A hundred years cannot repair a moment’s loss of honor.

Rust consumes iron and envy consumes itself.

The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.

A hundred wagon loads of thoughts will not pay a single ounce of debt.

To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover the prisoner was YOU.

Prefer a loss to a dishonest gain; the one brings pain at the moment, the other for all time.

Earth produces nothing worse than an ungrateful man.

Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors [sinners] is hard.

We can never see the sunrise by looking toward the west.

Unless you put the water jars out whenever it rains, you will never collect the water.

Trials are the food of faith.

Unto you, not a single blow can hit until the God of Love sees fit.

Spiritual forces cannot work while we are fully trusting earthly forces.

Cultivate Patience while waiting on God to answer your prayers.

An unlit candle does not shine, for burning must always come before the light.

Prayer that uses previously unanswered prayers as an excuse for laziness has already ceased to be a prayer of faith.

Do not look ahead to what may happen tomorrow; look upwards for the Almighty God to lead and you to follow.

Faith that goes forward Triumphs!

True Faith relies on God and believes before seeing.

Sorrow causes deep scars, and indelibly writes its story on the suffering hearts but then again there’s always sunshine when the torrential storm departs.

Never run impulsively ahead of the Lord God; He is never late so learn to wait.

Sweetest joys of life are the fruits of sorrow.

Where there is much light, there is also much shade.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* MAY & JUNE 2010 *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

The miracle is not to fly in the air, or to walk on the water, but to walk on the earth.

The repentance of man is accepted by God as virtue.

Tell the Truth and shame the devil.

Obedience is the fruit of Faith; Patience is the early blossom on the tree of Faith.

Sorrows of life lifts us up heavenly towards God.

Be Still, Be Quiet in the midst of a raging storm, God sits above in the heavens, He’s your Deliverer, Be Glad!

Do not be discouraged – it may be the last key on the ring that opens the door.

Nothing lies beyond the reach of prayer except those things outside the will of God.

Strongest trees are found not in the thick shelter of the forest but out in the open, where winds from every direction bear down upon them; be that mighty oak tree.

The school of suffering graduates exceptional scholars.

Waiting on GOD brings us to the end of our journey much faster than our feet.

Be not fragile vases of glass or porcelain instead be like toughened pieces of steel, enduring twisting and crushing of utmost pressure without collapsing … our character molded and sharpened to great heights.

When God places a burden upon you, He places His arms underneath you.

Wherever God’s fingers points, His hand will clear a way.

Our prayers are God’s opportunities.

Weakness in Attitude becomes weakness in Character.

The wisest man is he who does not believe he is wise.

It is man that makes truth great, not truth that makes man great.

What seems to us as bitter trials are actually blessings in disguise.

Living without Faith is like driving in a fog.

A wise man changes his mind, a fool never.

Good Man – Good Deeds; Bad Man – Evil Deeds.

If ship at sea steers a wrong course, wreckage in the end.  If a person walks a wrong path knowingly, surely disasters round the bend.

Overripe fruit, outwardly looked fine but inside, rotting at the heart.

Sin will always find you out.

Crooked wall always hates a straight line.

Forethought is easy; Repentance hard.

Today’s Hardship is Tomorrow’s Pride.

Great necessities call out great Virtues.

Wicked men obey from Fear; Good men from Love.

Quiet water wears down a mountain.

A lie comes back sooner or later.

He who goes borrowing; goes sorrowing.

Blessed are those who can give without remembering and receive without forgetting.

Waste not fresh tears over old griefs.

Wisdom, of course, is a commodity more precious than platinum.

When drinking water, always remember the source.

The sea accepts a hundred streams and rivers.

Be the Steel that withstands a hundred trials.

It is easier to move a mountain than to change a person’s character.

A great man is opened, composed and has no worries but a petty person is full of distresses.

Come without a sign, Gone without a trace.

Pride hurts, Humility benefits.

To enjoy a grander sight, Do climb to a greater height.

Strictly discipline oneself but be lenient with others.

Time is like a sword, if you do not cut it, it will cut you.

The trip of the foot is better than the trip of the tongue.

A fool is one who is sinking and hangs desperately on a straw.

Smoke from the relatives renders you blind.

An envious person sees the loss of your blessing as a blessing.

Blindness of one’s eye is better than the blindness of one’s heart.

Life sometimes is made of two days, One is sweet and the other bitter.

Whining and Complaining is a weak person’s weapon or defense.

When stomach is hungry, eyes are blind.

Everything forbidden are the most desirable.

Don’t shoot an arrow you can’t get back so don’t start a bad habit you can’t cure.

A burnt child dreads the fire.

If you oppress the one below you, you won’t be free from punishment from the one above you.

If one has no shame at all, then one may do whatever one wants no matter the cost or humiliation.

The purest of people are the ones with good manners and self-respect.

If one is a liar consistently, one should have a very good memory.

The worst emotion is envy and bitterness is death to the soul.

Avoiding mistakes is better than apologizing afterward for it.

A secret is a like a dove; when it leaves my hand it takes wings.

A day comes and a day passes; whether good or bad things, it all comes to an end.

No crowd ever waited at the gates of Patience.

Only the tent pitched by your own hands will stand the test of time.

A thousand enemies outside the house is better than one within its walls.

The wound that bleeds inwardly is the most dangerous.

When a door opens not to your knock, consider one’s reputation.

While a word yet unspoken, one is master of  it; once its spoken, it is master of you.

Gifts makes slaves as whips makes dogs.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER 2010 *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

For God hates utterly the bray of bragging tongues.

Pretend inferiority and encourage his arrogance.

Depend not on fortune but on conduct.

What the superior man seeks is in himself. What the mean man seeks is in others.

People often grudge others what they cannot enjoy themselves.

No man is rich enough to buy back his past.

To flee vice is the beginning of virtue, and to have got rid of folly is the beginning of wisdom.

Prejudice is the child of ignorance.

In the depths of winter, I finally learned there was in me an invincible summer.

He that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.

If a father does not cultivate, the son does not inherit land.

Sweet and Sour walk hand in hand.

To fight once shows bravery, but to fight all the time is stupid.

As the wound inflames the finger, so thought inflames the mind.

What has been blown away, cannot be found again.

A snake that swallows his friend will have a tail sticking out of his mouth.

One who knows everything at times draws water with a basket.

When the music stops, a deaf person continues to dance.

To have two eyes is cause for pride; but to have one eye is better than to have none.

A camel does not joke about the hump of another camel.

Do not mend your neighbor’s fence before seeing to your own.

The sore is cured but the scar remains.

A big crowd, but not a human being in sight.

Charity and pride have different aims, yet both feed the poor.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* NOVEMBER & DECEMBER 2010 *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

ACT when GOD speaks.

Open the Book of Proverbs, wisdom will seek you when you surrender yourself with a cleansed heart in reading.

Always try to do what is right and leave the rest to God.

It’s prayer that moves the hand which moves the world.

New today; Old tomorrow.

God will indeed bless when the heart is right.

Failure is not a sin; Faithlessness is.

To be all in God’s eyes and counted worthy is better than in any earthly kings praises.

Plenty sits still, hunger is a wanderer.

Proverbs are the daughters of experience.

You can’t sew buttons on your neighbor’s mouth.

What breaks in a moment takes years to mend.

Each bay; it’s own wind.

Virtue is not knowing but doing.

Good deeds are the best prayers.

When fortune turns against you, even jelly breaks your teeth.

God gave us music that we might pray without words.

A hand ready to hit, may cause you great trouble.

When what you want doesn’t happen, learn to want what does.

One head cannot hold all wisdom.

He that cannot endure the bad will not live to see the good.

Scatter with one hand; gather with two.

Out of the fullness of the heart, the mouth speaks.

Clean your finger before you point at my spots.

Fair words never hurt the tongue.

Silence is the hardest argument to refute.

Measure a thousand times; cut once.

Do not allow sins to get beyond creeping.

Nature is the Art of God.

Don’t say amen to an unacceptable prayer.

Jealousy is the disease of the weak.

No sin is hidden to the soul.

Kind words conquer.

Three feet of ice does not result from one day of freezing weather.

Character is easier kept than recovered.

He who sacrifices his conscience to ambition burns a picture to obtain the ashes.

The heart at rest sees a feast in everything.

The afternoon knows what the morning never expected.

If you want your eggs hatched; sit on them yourself.

The winds of heaven change suddenly; so do human fortunes.

A gentle hand may lead an elephant by a hair.

The best sauce in the world is hunger.

A lousy magnet loses its power of attraction; so does a rich man when he becomes poor.

Stand still and Watch when God trumpets His call for our Vengeance.

Tides never ceases to roll in and out so slanderous and scoffers should reflect on their insults.
